Day 6 – Delicate Flowers with a Distant Past

06 Jan

One of the things I like best about getting out into the country on the weekends, would have to be visiting country markets. Yesterday, we hit the jackpot. The Koonwarra Farmer’s Market when we stopped for breakfast at The Koonwarra Store and an afternoon country market when we stopped to soak up the sun and surf at Sandy Point. So we breakfasted in cottage gardens, swam, caught waves on our boogie boards, enjoyed a picnic and wandered around two markets. It’s true, I was in weekend heaven.

And whilst I enjoyed every minute away from the January decluttering program, these origami paper flowers (which I brought at the Sandy Point Market), made with the pages of old books, were the things that had me smiling just before I fell off to sleep.

So resourceful. So beautifully crafted. So clever! These delicate flowers have a distant past – now worlds away. I even cleaned out the dresser this afternoon so I could find them the perfect home.
